Jose Cardenas, MD

Jose Cardenas, MD, is a highly experienced and skilled neurologist practicing at Aiken Physicians Alliance Neurology. Dr. Cardenas believes in the importance of forming long-lasting connections and the “people touch;” the rapport established with the patient is a very important part of a successful treatment plan.

Dr. Cardenas earned his medical degree from La Salle University Medical School in Mexico City, Mexico. He completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of South Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Cardenas is board certified in both neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in headache medicine by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. He is a member of the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, American Academy of Neurology, American Headache Society, and the American Society of Neuroimaging.

Dr. Cardenas’ family are avid equestrians and love living in Aiken. When not in clinic or at the hospital, Dr. Cardenas enjoys spending time with his family, grilling, and watching soccer.
