Jesus Castillo, DO, FAOAO, CAQSM

Jesus Castillo, DO, FAOAO, CAQSM, is an experienced and highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist practicing with Aiken Physicians Alliance Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Castillo is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and in Sports Medicine (CAQSM), and he is a fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. His goal is always to improve his patients’ overall quality of life and return them to their physical activities of choice.

Dr. Castillo earned his medical degree with honors at Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery and served as Chief Orthopedic Surgery Resident at the University of Medicine and Dentistry School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ. He has held an Assistant Professorship of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and served as a Clinical Instructor for Family Medicine Sports Fellow and Residents, MUSC Medical Students, and Clemson Pre-Med Students while with AnMed Health Community Orthopaedics in Anderson, SC.

Always staying on top of new technologies and breakthroughs, Dr. Castillo is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Castillo also served as an officer, orthopedic surgeon, and Head of the Department of Orthopedics in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. During his service, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in 2014 and received the Meritorious Unit Commendation for Expeditionary Medical Facility – Kuwait in 2011.

When not in clinic, Dr. Castillo enjoys spending time with family and friends and enjoying the outdoors.
